THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team was beaten 7-0 by Florida International University in the Lester Bimah Battle on the Bayou at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers held a 4-0 advantage at the half added three goals in the second half. The FIU attack was spearheaded by forwards Izelle Barriere and Nikole Solis who each netted two goals. Forward Kim Schneider, midfielder Noemi Paquin, and defender Kennedy Floyd also scored for the Panthers.
The Red & Gray offense was led by senior forward
Koryn Barrett who took two out of the teams five shots and had one on goal. Freshman forward
Kelsey Villatoro and junior midfielder
Allie Jones also had shots on target.

The Colonels will hit the road for the first time this season, crossing state lines into Texas to take on Tarleton State (Aug. 25) and Abilene Christian (Aug. 27).
