LAFAYETTE, La. - Nicholls State University men's tennis player
Omar Morsy has been named All-Louisiana Second Team as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) announced its collegiate tennis honors for the Spring 2023 season.
Morsy, a native of Cairo, Egypt, had a strong season for the Colonels where he was also named All-Southland First Team for No. 2 doubles. He anchored the Colonels in singles as well, playing all of his matches at No. 1 as he racked up a 11-5 singles mark. Morsy's league wins came against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UIW, and he also notched nonconference victories over Louisiana and Southern Miss.
In doubles, Morsy was 10-5 overall and posted an undefeated record in conference at 4-0 at No. 2. It marked the second straight season that he was named all-league for doubes.
