Britiya Curtis scored career highs in the Nicholls State University women's basketball team's 89-77 senior day victory over Texas A&M-Commerce inside Stopher Gym on Saturday afternoon.
Alexander poured in 28 points while shooting 13-26 (50%) from the field and grabbed 15 rebounds. This is her fifth 20-point game of the season and her third double-double in the last four contests.
Curtis played all 40 minutes and scored 28 points while hitting 10 field goals, including four from beyond the arc. This is the 15th time she has scored in double figures and the 11th time she has hit multiple triples in a game.
The Colonels came out in the second half on fire as they shot 11-22 (50%) from the field and led by as much as 19. Nicholls led 70-54 going into the final quarter. The Lions fought back and got as close as eight in the final frame, but the Colonels made free throws late to keep their distance.
Senior guard
Kyla Hamilton stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, seven rebounds, and seven of the Colonels 17 assists. Junior forward
Deonna Brister scored 10 points to register her 12th double figure scoring game.
The Colonels dominated the glass as they hauled in a season-high 50 rebounds. It was a total team effort as eight Colonels registered at least three boards, including senior center
Kate Manley and junior forward
Violette Skipworth combined for nine rebounds.

The Red & Gray (13-14, 7-8 SLC) will play their final three regular season games on the road. First, they go to Natchitoches to play Northwestern State, followed by a matchup with McNeese in Lake Charles. The unit will conclude the regular season in Hammond against Southeastern.
