FRISCO, Texas – For the second time this season, Nicholls State University softball pitcher Audrey McNeill has been named Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. 

McNeill threw two shutouts in the Colonels' sweep at Northwestern State, allowing a combined five hits while striking out 16 batters. McNeill tossed a two-hitter in the 5-0 victory to clinch the series, racking up a career-high nine strikeouts while also retiring 16 consecutive batters. She was just as dominant in the finale, fanning seven batters while giving up three hits. The sweep in Natchitoches was the first for the Colonels since 2008. 

It marks the third weekly honor for McNeill after earning it once last season.
