THIBODAUX, La – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team was beaten 2-0 by Grambling State University on Sunday morning.
The teams were tied 0-0 for the first 20 minutes of the contest before the Tigers scored a pair of goals 64 seconds apart.
Both goals came via crosses from the wing to the middle. First, Kennedy Farr setup Jayla Gage (22:37), followed by Morgan Johnson finding Alana Aiken to put Grambling up 2-0. The Colonels fought the rest of the way a generated multiple chances but could not capitalize.
The Red & Gray took seven shots with three on target. Alexa Deathrage attempting two with one on goal, while
Kaylin Wheeler, and
Kaylie Harris' lone attempts were the other two on target.

Mia Gallina took one shot apiece.
Senior goalkeeper
Megan Cook tallied three saves while facing 14 total shots. The Tigers committed 12 fouls compared to four for the Colonels. Anaya Thomas was issued a yellow card late in the first half. (43:01).
