MONROE, La – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team was beaten 4-0 by ULM on Sunday afternoon.
 
The teams were tied 0-0 for the first 20 minutes of the contest with both teams playing physical with the units combing for seven fouls before the Warharks broke the tie with goal by Emelie Kobler (23:09).
 
In the second half, ULM added to their lead as Kobler converted a penalty kick after the Colonels were whistled for a handball (57:45). Later, Skylar Blaise setup Jensyn Lins to score the third goal of the game (64:28) and Kai Douglas scored a penalty kick in the 88th minute.
 
Peyton Bastine, Avery Mondoux, and Mia Gallina took the only three shots for the Red & Gray. Senior goalkeeper Megan Cook tallied two saves. The game was intense and physical as the Colonels committed 12 fouls compared to nine for the Warhawks and both teams were issued two yellow cards apiece.

The Red & Gray will host Troy on Tuesday Sept. 3 at 4 pm at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex before hitting the road again to face Alcorn in Lorman, Mississippi on Thursday, Sept. 5.
