THIBODAUX, La – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team celebrated senior day and secured its fourth consecutive draw against Lamar at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.
Nicholls (4-7-5, 1-3-4) generated chances early on before Lamar took control of the game. Goalkeeper Aslinn Wright stood tall for the Colonels who were outshot 18 to four. She tallied seven saves enroute to her third clean sheet of the season.
Mylea Riggle led the Colonels with two shots while
Lillie Mazur and
Angelina Rispone took the other shots for the Red & Gray. The Colonels generated two corner kicks and committed 10 fouls while Lamar had five corners and two fouls.
The four straight ties for Nicholls are significant as for the first time since 2011, the Colonels have recorded standing points in at least four consecutive contests.
