Tamara Chavez was named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as the league office announced its final weekly honors on Monday.
Chavez had a pair of impressive performances to wrap up her collegiate career. In a four set loss to Southeastern she posted 23 kills while hitting .308 from the floor before a dominant 24 kill (.340) outing helped the Colonels beat New Orleans in the season finale. The Lima, Peru native, was one of the most dominant offensive players in the nation as she led the SLC in kills per set (4.45) which ranked 26th nationally.
