Multiple SEC Matchups & Hancock Whitney Classic Highlight Nicholls 2026 Baseball Schedule

THIBODAUX, La. – Led by second-year head coach Brent Haring, the Nicholls State University baseball team announced Monday its 2026 game schedule that features 24 games at Ray E. Didier Field, multiple matchups against SEC foes, and a trip to Biloxi for the Whitney Hancock Classic.

Nicholls will begin the season on the road in a three-game series against Tennessee (2/13-2/15) before returning home for the home opener against South Alabama on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Following a matchup at LSU (2/18), the Colonels will return home for eight straight home games that include series against UT Martin (2/20-2/22) and Southland Conference foe McNeese (2/27-3/1).

After a home game against Tulane (3/3), the Red & Gray will hit the road to take on Southern Miss in Hattiesburg (3/4) and Texas A&M-Corpus Chirsti (3/6-3/8). The unit will return home to host Jackson State (3/10) and Xavier LA (3/11) before welcoming UTRGV to Thibodaux for the first time (3/13-3/15).

Nicholls will hit the road again, first stopping in Biloxi, Mississippi for the Whitney Hancock Classic against Southern Miss on Tuesday, March 17 before heading to San Antonio to battle UIW (3/20-3/22). The Colonels will return home to host Southeastern Baptist (3/24) and Northwestern State (3/27-3/29).

The Red & Gray will close the month of March with a road game at Tulane (3/31) and begin April at HCU (4/3-4/5). Following the trip to Houston the Colonels will host Lamar (4/10-4/12) before hitting the road for six straight contests. On Tuesday, April 14 the Colonels will head to Mobile, Alabama to face South Alabama before battling Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas for the first time since 2018 (4/16-4/18). Nicholls will wrap up the road swing with games at Jackson State (4/21) and Louisiana (4/29).

The Colonels will play its final home games against New Orleans (5/1-5/3) before wrapping up the regular season on the road at Mississippi State (5/5) and Southeastern (5/7-5/9). The Southland Conference Tournament is scheduled to begin on May 14.
