THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team pushed its winning streak to five matches with a 7-0 victory at Southern on Thursday before returning home for a 4-2 win over Jackson State on Friday.
Nicholls now sits at 5-1 on the season and will take on Southern Miss on Sunday.

Facing a shorthanded Jaguar lineup, Nicholls secured two points via forfeit in singles. Lindstedt and
Kotaro Matsumura won on the top two courts, 6-0, 6-1, and Tavares won both of his sets at No. 3, 6-1. Wood finished off the sweep with a 6-4, 6-0 win.
Against Jackson State, the Colonels fell behind after dropping the doubles point but straight-set wins in singles by Lindstedt and Tavares tied it up.
Felipe Spagnuolo gave Nicholls the edge with a 6-4, 7-6 (6) triumph over Maas Schotanus and Marki wrapped up the match with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5.
