THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University baseball team will host a three-game series against Little Rock on Feb. 21-22.
 
The teams were originally scheduled to play one game on each day but due to weather representatives from each school decided to change the schedule.
 
First pitch on Friday will be at 2 PM while on Saturday the teams will play a doubleheader that begins at 1 PM with the second game starting approximately 30 minutes following game one.  
 
In addition to the changes to the weekend series, Nicholls and LSU have decided a new plan for their matchups. The Colonels will travel to Baton Rouge on Monday, Feb. 24 with first pitch from Alex Box Stadium scheduled for 6PM. The Red & Gray will host the Tigers on Tuesday, April 8 with first pitch from Ray E. Didier Field being at 6:30 PM.
 
Earlier this week, Nicholls (2-2) fell to Omaha 5-2, after winning last week's opening series against Northern Illinois.
 
In the opening series win, the Colonels took the first two games in dramatic fashion. On Friday, the unit was down 3-0 before exploding for five runs in the eighth inning to complete the comeback. The Red & Gray momentum carried into Saturday as the squad posted 10 runs on 11 hits. Sunday was a different story as the Huskies won 21-2.
 
Karson Irvin (.538) has been a force at the plate as he has a team high seven hits and is tied with 
Aaron Biediger (.300) with four RBI. On the hill, all three starters - 
Michael Lindsey (1.80), 
Dalton Hill (1.75), 
Alec Sparks (3.00) all have posted at least seven strikeouts. While in the bullpen the Colonels combined for nine punch outs.
 
Little Rock (3-0) enters the weekend unbeaten after sweeping Evansville during the opening weekend.
 
Zach Henry (.545) and Ryan Geck (.538) lead the Trojans at the plate as they combined for 13 hits, including four doubles and one homer to register three RBI apiece against the Aces. On the mound, starting pitchers, Brody Bunting, Jack Cline and Jackson Wells all went at least five full frames while combining for 20 strikeouts and seven hits.
