THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University baseball team will cross state lines to face the Southland Conference's newest member University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in a three-game series on March 14-16.
 
The first two games from Edinburg, Texas will begin at 6:30 p.m. while Sunday's first pitch is scheduled for noon.
 
After sweeping Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last weekend, Nicholls (8-11, 3-3 SLC) dropped a pair of nail-biting mid-week contests at Tulane and against No. 20 Mississippi State. UTRGV (11-3, 6-0 SLC), who is one of two teams that are unbeaten in SLC action, had their seven-game winning streak snapped in a road loss at No. 22 Southern Mississippi.
