FRISCO, Texas - For the third consecutive week, the Nicholls State University softball program garnered Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Hitter of the Week as junior
Erin Krause received her first weekly honor this season.
A native of Cypress, Texas, Krause hit .714 (10 of 14) with eight RBIs and six runs scored as Nicholls went 4-0 for the week, beating Southern Miss before sweeping East Texas A&M.Â
The Colonel third baseman had multi-hits in each game, including three hits in Games 1 and 2 at East Texas A&M. She also scored and had an RBI in every contest, highlighted by a 3-for-3 outing with three RBIs and two runs scored in Game 2 versus the Lions.
Krause headlined another outstanding week at the plate for first-year head coach
Ron Frost's squad as the Colonels posted a .448 team batting average in the four games. In the team's second straight SLC sweep, Nicholls totaled 44 hits in the series and increased its batting average in league play to .340.

Riding a nine-game winning streak, Nicholls will host HCU for a three-game midweek series, starting on Tuesday, April 7, with a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader.Â
