THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team fell 3-2 to ULM at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex on Thursday night.
After falling behind 2-0 early, Nicholls (0-1) responded by taking advantage of the aggressive Warhawks defense who committed a handball inside the box. Midfielder
Mylea Riggle converted a penalty kick to score the first Colonel goal of the season to cut the deficit in half (24:26).
The Warharks scored their first goal when Beth Strutton scored six minutes into the contest. 10 minutes later, Libby Holmes connected with Skylar Blaise from nearly 40 yards away to build ULM's two goal advantage (15:41).
After nearly 54 minutes of scoreless action. the Colonels tied the game Sara Sigurdson free kick that found the bottom right corner of the goal from roughly 25 yards away. However, with four minutes remaining in regulation, the Warhawks broke the tie with a goal by Maria Gealon.

Aislinn Wright tallied eight saves on 20 shots faced. The Colonel offense had multiple opportunities in their end but
Avery Mondoux, Sigurdson, and Riggle took the only three shots of the game for unit.
