LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Nicholls State University women's basketball team offense struggled in its 62-51 loss at McNeese State University on Thursday night.
Nicholls offense struggled in the first half as they hit five field goals and committed 17 turnovers. After shooting cold in the first 20 minutes, the Colonels were behind by 12 at the intermission.
The Red & Gray offense outscored the Cowgirls by four in the third quarter and hit scored six early points in the fourth frame to get as close as four with 6:09 to go. However, the Colonels offense slowed down and the Cowgirls hit six foul shots down the stretch.
Nicholls finished the game with 17 made field goals and committed the most turnovers since the start of SLC action.
Jesslynn Jalomo led the Colonels with 13 points as she hit the teams' only three triples and four free throws.
Anyra Wilson connected on five field goals to add 12 points while grabbing seven rebounds.
