LAKE CHARLES, La. – Senior goalkeeper
Aislinn Wright recorded her fourth shutout of the season in the Nicholls State University women's soccer team's 0-0 draw against McNeese on Cowgirl Field in Lake Charles on Friday night.
Wright tallied nine saves including seven in the second half to help Nicholls (3-3-6, 1-0-3 SLC) earn another point and remain unbeaten in league action. The tie for the Colonels marks the third draw in the all-time series against the Cowgirls dating back to 1998.
The Colonels took seven shots and generated three corner kicks in a physical match that saw the teams combine for 24 fouls. ON the other end, McNeese took 22 total shots and generated five corner kicks.
Four different Colonels took shots as
Kaylie Harris and
Alyssa Wheeler took two shots apiece with both landing on target.
Angelina Rispone recorded the other shot on target for the Red & Gray.
The McNeese offense that took 22 shots was led by Isabella Baltov who had five shots on targert. Sophia Hull, Alexanda Arvinatis, Grace Ella Davis, and Sumayah Brown had the other shots on goal for the Cowgirls.
