FRISCO, Texas - Nicholls State University senior
Claire Sisco has been named Jersey Mike's Southland Softball Hitter of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Sisco was a tough out in the Colonels' series win at Northwestern State, batting .714 while reaching base in 10 of her 12 plate appearances (.833 OB%). She started the series by going 3-for-4 with a triple in the 6-0 victory. Sisco then posted another multi-hit game in the finale with a double and an RBI.
For the weekend, Sisco added four runs scored, three walks and two hit-by-pitches. The Colonel leadoff hitter also tacked on two steals to bring her league-leading total to 28.
Sisco is the third Colonel to win a weekly award this season, joined by
Reagan Heflin and two-time honoree
Molly Yoo.
On Deck
Nicholls will open postseason play on Thursday, April 30 against Northwestern State in the Lake Charles Bracket. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
