THIBODAUX, La. – After three seasons, Nicholls State University men's basketball head coach Tevon Saddler has resigned to pursue a coaching position in the professional ranks with the Washington Wizards G-League affiliate the Capital City Go-Go, Nicholls Vice President for Athletics and Athletics Director
Jonathan Terrell announced Monday morning.
Saddler posted a 54-46 overall record in his three seasons as the NCAA's youngest head coach in Division I Men's Basketball. He shined in Southland Conference play, leading the Colonels to a 38-22 league record and three appearances in the Southland Tournament. Nicholls reached the SLC Tourney finals in his debut season and won at least one game in each postseason appearance.
Saddler became the first head coach in school history to have back-to-back 20-win seasons. In his first season at the helm, he set the program records for overall wins and Southland wins by a head coach in their first season. He was recognized nationally for his success as he was named a finalist in 2024 for the Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year (top first-year head coach) and Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year (top minority head coach).
