Colonels Score Most Goals in Program History in 11-0 Victory

PINE BLUFF, Arkansas – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team exploded for a program record 11 goals in its shutout victory over the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff on Saturday afternoon.
 
Nicholls set the tone early as Alyssa Wheeler connected with Olyvia Pugh who scored four minutes into the contest. Pugh struck again roughly 10 minutes later to put the Colonels up 2-0. The Colonels score two more goals before halftime as Jozlyn Isaac scored on an assist by Sydney Becker (32:55) and Angelina Rispone scored her first goal of the season just before the intermission.
 
The Red & Gray kept their momentum rolling into the second half as Pugh set up Jezlyn Nelson for her second goal of the season. Wheeler and Becker added unassisted goals before Gentry Watrous found Kate Guillory to put the Colonels up 8-0. Becker scored a second goal off an assist by Kaylie Harris before Harris scored the final two goals to set the program record.
 
The Colonels' offense outshot UAPB 34-2 while goalkeepers Aislinn Wright and Esther Quintanilla combined to record the first shutout of the season. Before today, Nicholls scored in double figures twice in 2015 and 2016.
