Nicholls Summer Baseball List
THIBODAUX, La. – With the collegiate year just ending a few weeks ago, select members of the Nicholls State University baseball team will continue their seasons this summer in various locations around the country by participating in wooden bat leagues.
A total of 22 Colonel players will be playing in seven leagues this summer, going as far west as California, north into Canada and some staying a little bit closer to home around the southwest.
“Anytime your players can continue to work and get better is a good thing,” head coach
Seth Thibodeaux said. “These leagues have been very good for us in the past, and we hope the players will be able to get the most out of their time there.”
The two leagues getting the most players are the Northwoods League and the M.I.N.K. League, getting five Colonel players per league. The Northwoods League is a league made up of teams in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and into Canada, while the M.I.N.K league is a group of teams in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.
Pairing up and remaining as teammates for the summer will be
Grant Borne and
Taylor Byrd as members of the Waterloo Bucks, and
Tyler Duplantis and
Zach Thiac on the Thunder Bay Border Cats.
Brandon Jackson will join the Mankato MoonDogs in Minnesota.
The Omaha Diamond Spirit will get three current Colonels in

A mix of current and future Nicholls players will head just a short drive west to Lafayette to join the Acadiana Cane Cutters of the Texas Collegiate League.

Justin Sinibaldi, with Rodrigue being very familiar with the TCL, will help acclimate newcomers Ryan Deemes and Jason McDonald who will also be joining the Acadiana team and officially become Colonels in the fall.
Chris Miller,
Seth Stevens and
Cody Tillotson will join the Liberal Bee Jays of the Jayhawk league, which consists of six teams all in the state of Kansas.
Already four games into their season,

Alex Tucker are contributing members of the San Luis Obispo Blues of the California Collegiate League, with the Blues already 4-0 early into the season.
Also staying close and playing in New Orleans for the summer for the All-American Amateur Baseball Association is
