THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University volleyball team has signed Anna Niederhauser of Switzerland and Tijana Sisic of Serbia, Head Coach Tommy Harold announced Thursday.
 

A Bern, Switzerland native, Niederhauser will join the Colonels for the upcoming season after finishing her illustrious high school career at Gymnasium Neufeld, Bern. Niederhauser played club volleyball for VT Langnau (2007-09), Volley Oberdiessbach (2009-14) and TSVolley Düdingen (2013-15). She participated in the European Cup and was a member of the second place team at the Swiss Cup in 2014-15. In beach volleyball, Niederhauser earned second place at the u19 Swiss Championship (2013), third place at the u21 Swiss Championship (2014) and participated in the u20 European Championship (2015). Daughter of Bernhard Niederhauser and Imelda Emmenegger-Niederhauser, Anna has two brothers, Christian and Florian.
 

A native of Novi Sad, Serbia, Sisic will join Nicholls after finishing her high school career at Isidora Sekulic Gymnasium. Sisic played club volleyball with Champigneulles 07 (2008-11), ZOK Novi Sad (2011-14) and Slavija (2014-15). She earned second place in the First League of Vojvodina Province (2013), third place in the Second Serbian League (2015) and second place at the State Junior Tournament (2015). Daughter of Stanislav and Vesna, Tijana has one sister, Isidora.
 
Niederhauser and Sisic join newcomer Ivana Blaževic of Croatia, who signed with the team in November.
 
The Colonels had an outstanding 2014 campaign, doubling their overall win total from 2013 and more than doubling their win total against Southland Conference opponents. Nicholls received numerous awards, including four selections to the SLC Commissioner's Cup. The Colonels reached the Southland Conference Tournament last season, falling to the No. 1 seed Stephen F. Austin.
