Nicholls Volleyball Signs Libero and Defensive Specialist, Alexa Perry

THIBODAUX, La. Only days after signing Anna Niederhauser of Switzerland and Tijana Sisic of Serbia, Head Coach Tommy Harold announced the signing of Norwalk, Ohio native, Alexa Perry.
 
A defensive specialist and libero, Perry will join the Colonels after finishing her career with the Norwalk High School Truckers. A three-year letter winner, Perry was a member of the 2013 State Runner-Up team, won All-League honors in 2014 and 2015 and was an All-District player in 2015. She received the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association Award in 2013 and set the school record for serve-receive percentage in 2014. Perry played club ball for the Northshore Volleyball Club.
 
A well-rounded student-athlete, Perry was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Art Club, Foreign Language Club and Yearbook. She received the Kiwanas Student of the Month award in 2015, was a two-year letter winner in track and made the Honor Roll and Principal's List all four years of high school.
 
Daughter of Eric and Heather Perry, Alexa has three siblings, Isaac, Mitchell and Jared.
 
The Colonels had an outstanding 2014 campaign, doubling their overall win total from 2013 and more than doubling their win total against Southland Conference opponents. Nicholls received numerous awards, including four selections to the SLC Commissioner's Cup. The Colonels reached the Southland Conference Tournament last season, falling to the No. 1 seed Stephen F. Austin.
