STATESBORO, Ga. – The Nicholls State University men's tennis team wrapped up its Georgia road trip on Saturday with a 5-0 loss to the No. 3 ranked team in Division II, Armstrong State.
 
With the loss, Nicholls slipped to 1-6 on the season. Armstrong State stayed undefeated at 3-0.
 
In doubles, Kieran Cronin and Oleksander Podgursky started things off with a dominating 8-2 victory on the No. 1 court. But the Colonels did not have much success the rest of the way. Evan Karatzas and Oscar Reeve fell 8-2 on the No. 3 court and Sam Meessen / Bernard Wezeman dropped the No. 2 court, 8-2, giving Armstrong State the doubles point.
 
For singles play, Nicholls fell in on the No. 1, 3, 5 and 6 courts before the final two matches went unfinished. Podgursky had the best showing at No. 3, dropping each set 6-4 against Ignacio Hernandez.
 
Nicholls will return to action on March 2 as they host Presbyterian at 3 p.m.
