THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University men's basketball squad and its fifth-ranked scoring offense take on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Friday at Stopher Gym. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT.

The Colonels (4-3) are averaging 115.5 points at Stopher this season after picking up a 104-68 victory over Blue Mountain College on Monday. Nicholls had several standout performers, including senior Kimani Jackson's career-high 14 points (7-7 FG) and eight rebounds. Freshman Kevin Johnson added a career-best eight assists.

Nicholls is heavily reliant upon long-range shots, ranking atop the Southland and sixth nationally with 12.1 3-pointers made per contest.  The Colonels also sit first in the league in assists (18.9) and defensive rebounds per game (29.1). Senior center Legend Robertin, a 7-foot-1 force in the paint, holds the top spot in the conference with 2.1 blocks per game.

Louisiana (5-2) is coming off of an 89-78 win over McNeese in the Cajun Dome. Malik Marquetti tallied a career-high 17 points (5-6 3FG). The Ragin' Cajuns' defense forced 16 Cowboy turnovers.

Louisiana returns 75.6 percent of their scoring from last year's squad, led by senior guard Frank Bartley's team-high 15.4 points per game. JaKeenan Gant, a transfer from Missouri, has chipped in 14.9 points per contest and ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference with 16 blocks (2.3 bpg).
