THIBODAUX, La. – The newly-reinstated Nicholls State University men's track program is offering a second tryout Tuesday at Guidry Stadium beginning at 3 p.m.
Tryouts will be held for student-athletes interested in competing in sprints (60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m), hurdles (60mH, 110mH, 400mH), jumps (long, triple, high) and distance (800m, 1,500m, mile, DMR, 3,000m, 3,000m steeple, 5,000m, 10,000m) events.
In order to try out, one must meet all of the following requirements:
- enrolled as a full-time Nicholls student
- started college within the past four years
- have the attached General Medical Physical and Orthopedic Physical forms completed by a physician and turned into the athletic training staff prior to attending tryout
- bring valid insurance card to be copied front and back by the athletic training department prior to attending tryout
- freshmen will be required to meet NCAA Division I Qualifier status based on high school transcripts and test scores
- contact Braylon Tatum or Stefanie Slekis prior to Tuesday, November 27, to assure all requirements are fulfilled
Please wear appropriate athletic apparel for weather conditions, including running shoes. Attendees should bring spikes and/or competition shoes if available. Please contact Slekis to arrange an alternate tryout should one be unavailable during the proposed date and time.
If offered a roster position on the men's track and field team, student-athletes will need to complete all NCAA Eligibility Center account registration requirements before official practice begins on Monday, Jan. 21st.
