THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University men's tennis team played a pair of matches in Alabama over the weekend and came up short, falling 4-0 to Jacksonville State Saturday and 4-3 against Alabama State on Sunday.
"We played some of our best doubles against Alabama State and had tremendous efforts by
Tobias Lentz and
Lewis Cox in singles," said
Greg Harkins, Nicholls tennis head coach. "In the end, it wasn't the result we were hoping for, but we'll have some time off and continue to get better."
The Colonels jumped out to a 1-0 lead over Alabama State with wins on the No. 1 and 2 courts in doubles. Lentz and
Oleksander Podgursky won at the No. 1 line, 6-4, and Cox/
