THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls State University tennis has set its schedule for the 2019 spring season, highlighted by 19 matches at the Colonel Tennis Complex between the women's and men's teams.

Both squads open the spring slate on Jan. 26, with the women hosting former Southland member Texas State. The men begin play at LSU in the Jerry Simmons Invitational.

In February, the women welcome four teams to Thibodaux. Following matches with Prairie View A&M (9th) and Jackson State (16th), Nicholls will take on Troy (23rd) and in-state rival Louisiana Tech (24th).

Southland play begins in March with two matches on the road before returning home to face Northwestern State (8th) and Central Arkansas (10th). The Colonels will have a long stretch on the road in conference before closing out the regular season in April against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12th) and Lamar (14th).

Other notable nonconference opponents for the women include at Samford (Feb. 3), Bradley (March 20), and at Tulane (April 3).

The men will make their home debut on Feb. 1 against a former SLC program as well, UTSA. They will have doubleheaders with the women against Prairie View and Jackson State, and host Florida A&M (March 15) and Southern Miss (March 5).

The Colonels begin conference play at the end of March with three road contests - New Orleans (27th), Abilene Christian (29th) and UIW (31st). Following a bout at LSU on April 6, the squad returns home to close out its Southland schedule against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12th) and Lamar (14th)
