BATON ROUGE, La. – Nicholls State University senior quarterback
Chase Fourcade received his second weekly honor following the Colonels' win over No. 10/11 Central Arkansas as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) named him offensive player of the week.
A native of Metairie, Fourcade garnered the same honor from the Southland Conference earlier on Monday. It was the first time in his career that he took home both honors in the same week.
In the victory against UCA, Fourcade threw for 327 yards and a touchdown on 24 of 29 and rushed for 48 yards and another TD. Needing only 220 total yards to reach 10,000 for his career, Fourcade surpassed the mark to become the seventh player in Southland Conference history to do so.
