THIBODAUX, La. -- Nicholls State University head volleyball coach Kallie Noble wrapped up a successful National Signing Day on Wednesday, securing two student-athletes to join the Colonels on the hardcourt come next fall as members of her 2020 recruiting class. Yani Johnson, a local prospect out of Morgan City, signed on in the early afternoon before Zaire Johnson -- a Virginia native -- inked her future with the Red & Gray later in the evening.

"The 2020 signing class adds size, skill and energy to our program," Noble said. "As a staff, we are looking for tough, physical kids that are grateful for the opportunity to play at the next level."

Position: Right-Side Hitter
Height: 6-2
HC Kallie Noble: "Yani is a pinner hitter with great size and excellent energy. She can score from the right, the left and in the middle, but we feel she will fit in best as a right-side hitter. In this conference, it is important to be physical at the pins and we believe Yani can develop into a tremendous player. She is an easy kid to like, she is a great teammate and will be a welcome addition to our program."

Height: 5-10
HC Kallie Noble: "Zaire is a long, athletic kid who plays hard. In time, I believe she will become an excellent player at this level. She has a good feel offensively and will continue to grow as an elite blocker. She is a tough kid and is not afraid of competition. She has shown a serious desire to improve, and I think the sky is the limit for Zaire and we are thrilled to add her to the mix."
