THIBODAUX, La. – Coming off a series victory over Southern Illinois University, the Nicholls State University baseball squad will resume its eight-game home stretch against Alcorn State University Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The concession stand will feature $1 draft beer until the end of the fourth inning.

The Colonels (2-1) dropped their season opener before taking the final two against theSalukis behind strong pitching performances from senior Jacob Bedevian and freshman Shane Mejia Jr. and a late inning walk-off homer from sophomore Dane Simon.

The Braves (1-2) lost two of three at the MLB Urban Invitational, sandwiching a 10-9 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff between two defeats against Prairie View A&M and Southern. Senior first baseman Brandon Barna leads the team with a .400 batting average, recording multiple hits versus the Lions and Jaguars.
