Nicholls upped its record to 13-12 on the year after taking 2 of 3 in the weekend series against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The last two losses for the Red and Gray came in 10 innings, including last week's 5-4 heartbreaker against No. 7 LSU.
Southern Miss is 15-6 on the season and brings a seven-game winning streak to the matchup. The Golden Eagles swept Louisiana Tech and Old Dominion in conference play, with a midweek victory over ULM. The last loss was against UL-Lafayette, 6-5, in 12 innings.
Parker White (2-2, 1.93 ERA) is slated to start for the Colonels. Against LSU, he was perfect through three before allowing a pair of hits in the fourth inning. Jarod Wright (0-2, 7.04 ERA) will take the mound for Southern Miss.
