Colonels open Southland play at home against New Orleans

THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University baseball team will host New Orleans for its Southland Conference opening series, starting Friday night (March 8) at 6 p.m.

All three games will take place on Ben Meyer Diamond at Didier Field. Saturday's game is scheduled for 6 p.m. and Sunday's finale will start at 2 p.m. Tickets for the game can be purchased at NichollsTickets.com.

Nicholls (7-7) will look to snap a four-game skid which dropped the Colonels to .500 after a fast start. The Colonels have squared off against four Louisiana schools, posting a 3-4 record in the seven games. All three wins came against Grambling in a series sweep, with the losses occurring versus Tulane, McNeese, and Louisiana-Lafayette. New Orleans (8-3)  will be the fifth of nine Louisiana opponents for the Colonels this season.
