THIBODAUX, La. -- Friday afternoon, Nicholls State University head volleyball coach Kallie Noble announced the final five additions to her 2019 recruiting class, confirming a definitive tally of eight student-athletes set to join the Colonels on the hardcourt come next fall. Earlier this past December, the Red & Gray managed to bring aboard Jackie Alanis, Lilly Bivens and Devon Bright as the initial three signees, laying the foundation for the eventual eight-woman class.

The Colonels open the 2019 slate on Aug. 30 at the Mercer Bears Classic -- the first of four preseason tournaments -- before shifting focus to Southland Conference play on Sept. 26, traveling to in-state rival New Orleans to battle the Privateers. On the home front, Noble kicks off her first season at the helm in style, securing the program's first Thibodaux-based tournament since 2011 as the team opens the with the Colonels Classic on Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 against Alcorn State.

HC Kallie Noble: "Kate is a veteran, six rotation player. She is a competitive kid that can play on either pin and brings immediate depth to our team. She is an excellent defender and passer and brings a high volleyball IQ to the court."

Name: Bailey Lyons

Hometown: Denham Springs, La.
Position: Libero/Defensive Specialist
Height: 5'4"
HC Kallie Noble: "Bailey is a fireball, and you can see her play with superb energy and passion. She has a great ability to cover the court extremely well and is very quick on her feet."

Name: Abigail Bouzigard
High School: South Lafourche HS
Hometown: Cut Off, La.
Position: Middle Blocker
Height: 5'11"
HC Kallie Noble: "Abigail is a dynamic middle blocker. She can attack in front of the setter off two feet and also behind. She is an interesting combination of being extremely enthusiastic off the court and then, once back in play, becomes all business."

Position: Middle Blocker

HC Kallie Noble: "Rebecka is a local player I had the chance to work with late in the spring. She has the ability to attack on the front row but also move into an attacking backcourt role also. She is also very good defensively and we look forward to getting her involved with the program."

HC Kallie Noble: "Lilly is a polished setter that will complement our offensive system. She has a great tempo to her sets along with a great high contact on the ball. She has a high level of experience and will be a great competitor and fighter."

Position: Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist

HC Kallie Noble: "Devon is a tremendous athlete that brings a lot of versatility to the court. She has great ball control and can hit lots of different shots. She is a six-rotation player with a good all-around game."
