HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Nicholls State University men's golf team gets its 2019-20 season underway in the Sam Hall Intercollegiate, hosted by Southern Miss. The three-round event starts with 36 holes on Monday at the par 71, 6,902-yard course at the Hattiesburg Country Club.
Nicholls is one of 16 teams in the field, which consists of seven other Southland Conference members -- Central Arkansas, HBU, McNeese, New Orleans, Sam Houston State, Southeastern Louisiana, and UIW. Also competing in the tournament along with host Southern Miss are Troy, Missouri State, North Alabama, Oral Roberts, Samford, Austin Peay, and Appalachian State.Â

James Schilling's first lineup of the season will feature just one upperclassman,
Connor Campbell, and he will be joined by sophomore
Ben Baker, and freshmen
Nils Dobrunz,
Victor Le Gal, and
Mickael Najmark. Campbell is the lone player to participate in last year's Sam Hall as Baker did not compete until the spring semester. Campbell's best round in the 2018 edition of the tournament was a 74 in the second round.Â
