KERRVILLE, Texas - The Nicholls State University men's golf team finished its 2025-26 season at the Southland Conference Championship, held at the Comanche Trace Golf Club.
Nicholls posted its best round with a 298 in the first, then followed with a 304 and 303 for a 905. The Colonels finished 16 strokes behind Southeastern for seventh place, and 19 behind Lamar.
For the Colonels,
Ethan Marx and Robert Leo Arnorsson posted the top rounds as both had an even 72. Marx started the event with an even thanks to four birdies and led Nicholls with a 224--72-76-76 to tie for 23rd. Arnorsson's even came in his final round as he finished two strokes behind Mark with a 226--74-80-72.
James Bould was the next highest finisher at 229--75-75-79, and was followed by
Jack Moro (232--80-75-77) and
Kyle Traub (233--77-78-78).
The weather caused play to be suspended on Monday and teams finished rounds 1 and 2 on Tuesday. On Wednesday, UTRGV was three strokes better than host UIW to take the team title by one stroke. But UIW's Joel Talusen claimed medalist honors with a 211 (-5).
