THIBODAUX, La. -- After dropping two of three to open Southland play over the weekend, the Nicholls State University baseball program (8-8, 1-2 SLC) looks to bounce back with a pair of midweek victories over Mississippi Valley State (0-13, 0-6 SWAC), facing off against the Delta Devils on Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field.
Despite the team struggles at the plate versus New Orleans, freshman Brayden Jobert continues to serve as a bright spot early-on in the order, racking up two more multi-hit games during the weekend series, his fourth and fifth of the season, respectively. Similarly, sophomore Xane Washington managed the same feat while increasing his hit streak up to nine games, good for the current longest on the squad and second-best this year (Jobert, 13 games).
