THIBODAUX, La. – Six members of Nicholls State University tennis program were named ITA Scholar-Athletes and both teams were named All-Academic, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) revealed Monday its annual academic honors.
The Colonel women's team was represented by
Morgan Forshag,

Mikaela Konstantinova, and
Laura Lopez, while
Prasanna Pravi Bagade and
Pavle Drobnjakovic were the men's honorees.
"I'm really proud of the efforts of our student-athletes not only on the court, but they always excel to the highest levels in the classroom," said
Greg Harkins, Nicholls tennis head coach. "I'm proud of their time management, being able to balance their athletic and academic responsibilities. They are a great representation of our athletic department on and off the court and we plan on continuing doing both."
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must have a grade point average of at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
For a program to receive the ITA All-Academic Team award, it must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale and all varsity letter winners factor into the cumulative team grade point average for the current academic year.
