THIBODAUX, La. -- Less than two weeks removed from first serve, the Nicholls State University women's volleyball program has opted to insert a trio of non-conference contests in late January, scheduling a road season opener at Southern Mississippi on Jan. 28 before making a quick turnaround for a home doubleheader with Xavier (La.) just two days later on Jan. 30.

Earlier this past August, the Southland Conference mandated a postponement of all regularly-scheduled fall sports seasons to the spring semester, pushing the usual start date for women's volleyball by nearly six complete months.
