FRISCO, Texas - Nicholls State University quarterback
Lindsey Scott Jr. has been named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week following the Colonels' 44-14 road win at HBU.
Scott shared the weekly honor with Southeastern's Cole Kelley. It marked the second SLC award for Scott this season.
Leading the Colonels to their first victory away from home, Scott totaled 375 yards of total offense and accounted for four touchdowns against the Huskies. He rushed for a career-high 161 yards on just 15 carries, tying a school record with his fifth 100-yard game of the season. In the opening quarter, Scott broke free for 42- and 46-yard touchdown runs before finding
Dontaze Costly in the endzone for a 35-yard score. He played only two drives in the second half with both ending in Colonel touchdowns.
For the season, Scott leads the Southland in rushing yards, ranking sixth in the FCS at 112.7 yards per game and is fourth in the nation in yards per carry (7.4).
