Gauthreaux named All-Southland Second Team

FRISCO, Texas - Nicholls State University volleyball outside hitter Emily Gauthreaux has been named All-Southland Second Team, as the league office announced Wednesday it's all-conference teams and awards for the 2021 season.

A native of Houma, Louisiana, Gauthreaux is the first Colonel volleyball player to garner All-Southland since 2014. 

Gauthreaux was one of the top offensive threats in the league this season, ranking fifth with 3.07 kills per set. The number was even better in conference play as she racked up the second most kills with 183 for a 3.52 average, which ranked third best. She had the top four-set performance with 24 kills in the win over Northwestern State. Gauthreaux also had 25 aces on the year, good for eighth in the SLC.

UP NEXT
Nicholls will be making its first postseason appearance since 2014, taking on Northwestern State on Thursday, Nov. 18 for the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament. First serve in Houston at Sharp Gym is scheduled for 12 p.m.
