Washington tabbed Southland Women's Basketball Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas – Nicholls State University women's basketball forward Bryanna Washington is the Southland Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Southland weekly honors are presented by GEICO.

Washington poured in a game-high 21 points in the Colonels' game at Memphis last week. The Irving, Texas, native recorded her fifth-straight outing in double figures, shooting 50 percent from the field and adding five rebounds, two steals and a block. Washington moved up to sixth in the Southland in field goal percentage and is now averaging 11.4 points per game.
 
This award marks the first weekly honor of Washington's career.

Washington reached double figures for the fifth-straight outing, helping Nicholls hang around before the Tigers pulled away in the fourth quarter. The redshirt senior scored a game-high 21 points, shooting 50 percent from the field while adding five boards, two steals and a block.
