FRISCO, Texas – Nicholls State University redshirt sophomore
Adrian Mann has been named Southland Conference All-Academic Second Team, as the league office announced Wednesday it's 2020-21 women's basketball academic teams.
Hailing from Mokane, Missouri, Mann landed on the second-team squad after posting a 3.83 grade-point average as a human performance education major. She had a 4.0 in three consecutive semesters and was named to the 2019 Southland Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.
On the court, Mann was fourth on the Colonels in scoring at 8.4 points per game. She poured in a season-high 19 points in the win at home over rival Southeastern Louisiana and also had her first career double-double in a victory against Northwestern State, totaling 13 points and 11 rebounds. For the season, she averaged 3.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals.
Mann's honor marked the fifth consecutive year that head coach
DoBee Plaisance's team has had an all-academic selection.
Southland All-Academic teams are voted on by a head coach, sports information director and academic/compliance staff member from each Southland Conference institution. Student-athletes must possess a 3.00 cumulative GPA, have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competition to qualify for all-academic selection.
