**SCHEDULE CHANGE -- Due to inclement weather sweeping through the area, Thursday evening's contest has been officially postponed to Saturday, creating a doubleheader (first pitch 2 p.m.). Further, Friday's first pitch has been moved back to 4 p.m. in order to accommodate the back-to-back twin bills.**

THIBODAUX, La. -- With the postseason hopes officially on the line, the Nicholls State University baseball program (20-31, 15-21 SLC) wraps up the 2021 campaign with a critical four-game series against Sam Houston (23-22, 17-14 SLC), hosting the Bearkats from Friday, May 21 through Saturday, May 22 at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field. Prior to Thursday evening's contest, Nicholls President Dr. Jay Clune will present degrees to six members of the team who missed graduation due to last weekend's clash at McNeese before the entire athletic department celebrates the squad's Senior Class of 2021 in advance of Saturday's regular season finale.

As for the fast-approaching postseason, the Red & Gray remain in competition for one of the final positions at the Southland Conference Tournament; in order to claim that spot, however, the Colonels require a complete four-game sweep of SHSU. With a sweep, every scenario leads to an eight seed for Nicholls save for if Central Arkansas manages to sweep McNeese ALONG WITH either Lamar/UIW securing a sweep against one another.
