THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University cross-country teams will host the 2022 Southland Conference Championship on Friday, Oct.28, at Nicholls Farm in Thibodaux. The action will be streamed via ESPN+.

The Colonels has competed against seven SLC schools this season, including hosting UIW, Texas A&M-Commerce, and Southeastern at the 4th Annual Nicholls XC Invitational at Nicholls Farm in September.
The Red & Gray has multiple individuals that have recorded top-10 finishes this season. 2021 SLC All-Conference selection senior
Elsa Rijpstra registered three top-10 marks this season, including earning second place at the Nicholls XC Invitational. Junior
Elaina Hansen finished third at the Nicholls XC Invitational.
For the men, junior
Randy Canady clocked a sixth-place finish at the LSU XC Invitational and an eighth-place mark at the Nicholls XC Invitational. He was named the SLC men's Runner of the Week for his efforts in Baton Rouge. Junior
Luke Futey earned ninth place at the LSU XC Invitational.
