Nicholls Volleyball adds four transfers for 2022

THIBODAUX, La. – Nicholls State University head volleyball coach Kallie Noble announced Tuesday the addition of four transfers for the 2022 season – defensive specialists Kelsey Bradshaw (Eastern) and Kennedi Steele (Pepperdine), middle blocker Kendal O'Gilvie (VCU), and outside hitter Aspen Steele (Little Rock).

In her lone season at Eastern, Bradshaw started 22 of 30 matches played to help lead the Eagles to a MAC Tournament Championship, a 24-6 overall record, and an appearance in the NCAA DIII Tournament. She ranked second in the MAC with 56 aces and had the 15th-most digs in the conference with 227.

Prior to her time at Eastern, Bradshaw was a two-time all-district second-team selection as a libero at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Virginia. She will have three years of eligibility remaining.

O'Gilvie comes to Thibodaux after spending her freshman season with the Rams where she logged two starts in six matches played. She totaled 17 kills in 18 sets and added seven digs and six blocks. Her best performance came in a five-set match against Virginia when she recorded eight kills, four digs, two solo blocks and an ace.

A native of Cypress, Texas, O'Gilvie was a three-time all-district honoree at Langham Creek High School. She will also have three years of eligibility.

Aspen and Kennedi Steele are sisters and natives of Henderson, Nevada. Kennedi played in a total of nine matches and 15 sets for Pepperdine in the 2021 spring and fall seasons. She recorded three digs with two coming in a victory at San Francisco. She was a scholar-athlete in '21 for the Waves.

Aspen spent the '21 fall season at Little Rock, playing seven sets in four matches. She totaled two kills, both coming in a win over Appalachian State.

Both were members of the Durango High squad that earned state runner-up in 2019.

Nicholls finished the season with 11 victories, highlighted by its first postseason win since 2009.
