Tyler Theriot has been named Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week, as the league office announced Monday morning its weekly baseball honors.
Theriot continued his stellar season with eight shutout innings last Friday against Northwestern State, leading the Colonels to a series-clinching victory over the Demons. Theriot struck out five batters in the win and allowed just four hits. He retired the Demons in order in four of the innings and gave up only one extra-base hit.
With his performance, Theriot lowered his league-leading ERA and opponent batting average to 2.15 and .182, respectively. He improved to 5-2 on the season and is tied for first in the Southland in victories.
