JONESBORO, Ark. - The Nicholls State University men's golf team shot rounds of 290, 313 and 300 for its third event of the fall at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, hosted by Arkansas State at the RidgePointe Country Club.
The Colonels opened up the two-day tournament with their best score but slipped to last place after Monday's second round. Nicholls was unable to make up any ground in Tuesday's final 18, finishing in 16th place with a 903.
Transfer
Diego Prat Cruza carded the best showing for the Red and Gray, turning in under-par rounds of 70 and 71. He totaled a 221 and tied for 59th out of 88 golfers with a three-round score of 221. He also had one eagle and led the team with 11 birdies.
Also making his Colonel debut,
Dylan Weber shot a 229 with his best effort coming in the opening round where he shot a 1-over 73.
Freshman
Chase Pochylko totaled a 230 and was followed by
Jack Moro (231) and
Mickael Najmark.
Host Arkansas State won the team title with an 817 while Jacksonville State's Erik Jansson shot a 16-under 200 to win medalist honors by a single stroke.

Nicholls will host the LaTour Intercollegiate on Oct. 23-24 at the LaTour Golf Club in Mathews, Louisiana.
