THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University football team made an appearance in both FCS Top 25 Polls this week as the Colonels received 15 points in the Stats Perform poll while garnering a single vote in the AFCA Coaches edition. 

Nicholls improved to 5-0 in the Southland after taking down No. 4/8 UIW on the road with a 45-32 victory. The win set up another championship showdown with the Lamar Cardinals, who head to Thibodaux this Saturday with a 4-1 mark in conference.

After seeing their seven-game winning streak come to an end, UIW slipped from No. 4 to 10 in the coaches, and No. 8 to 16 in the media. UIW and Nicholls are the lone representatives from the Southland in the polls.

Nicholls wraps up its regular season home slate with Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 11 against Lamar. A victory would clinch the league's auto bid to the FCS playoffs and at least a share of the regular season title. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at NichollsTickets.com.
