Ryan O'Neil is the winner of the April Southland Conference Men's Golfer of the Month award, as announced by the league office Thursday.
O'Neil closed out the regular season with a fourth place finish at Arkansas State's Tunica National Intercollegiate. O'Neil had 13 birdies to finish in the top five and posted a low-round 67 in his second go-around. He started the month with a 223 at Sam Houston's Walden Invitational, helped by another sub-70 round as he wrapped up the event with a 3-under 69.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, O'Neil has three Golfer of the Month honors in his career after recording the last two.
O'Neil and the Colonels return to action in the Southland Conference Championship in San Antonio, Texas, at the Hyatt Hill Country Golf Club on Tuesday-Thursday next week, with the champion team earning the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
