THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls State University freshman
Lexi Alexander was named All-Louisiana Second Team for the 2022-23 season as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced Tuesday it's Louisiana Collegiate Women's Basketball teams and awards.
Alexander had a stellar rookie season for the Colonels where she ranked fourth in the Southland Conference in scoring at 13.8 points per game and was third in rebounding at 8.4 per contest. The native of Round Rock, Texas scored 20 or more points in six games and went on to be named SLC Freshman of the Year.
Alexander paced Nicholls with eight double-doubles with two coming in her first two collegiate games where she had 26 points, 11 rebounds and 15 points, 20 boards in a pair of victories. She also led the team with 84 made free throws and ranked fifth in the SLC with 1.1 blocks.
A Louisiana Sports Writers Association panel of media and sports publicists selected the All-Louisiana team, based on statistics and performances through the teams' conference tournaments.
